First, I'm almost 22 years old. I am sexually active with only one partner. I am not on any type of birth control, but we do use condoms. I have a history of irregular periods, and I skip periods. However, this absence is starting to worry me. My last period ended June 26 so it's been four months since I had a period. Three months was the longest absense in the past two years until this one. The day before yesterday I noticed a brown discharge, (not enough to wear even a liner) and it occurred yesterday. It did not occur today. I have taken two pregnancy tests in the past month that were negative. I don't think I'm pregnant, but I'm afraid of what else it may be. My financial situation isn't the best right now so going to see a doctor would really be a burden unless it is absolutely necessary. What could be causing this? How long should I wait before going to the doctor is an absolute must for a non-existant period? My biggest fear is not being able to have children (when the time is right). I'm not planning to have one now, but I definitely want them in my future.
