Hello Everyone,

Forgive me, this is my very first time asking a question, so I apologize in advance if it is posted in the wrong place.

I stumbled upon this website when googling "forensic Makeup Artist". I know there were several people who had asked about how to become a forensic makeup artist & I read that most of the responses suggested to check with your local funeral home/mortuary.

My question is HOW DO I FIND OUT HOW MUCH THE FORENSIC MAKEUP ARTISTS MAKE?

I've tried a few websites that offer general ideas of salaries of various job descriptions. My problem is that NONE of them offer Forensic Makeup Artist as an option. (VERY FRUSTRATING)

I'm trying to avoid asking a funeral home because I assume I should have an idea of what price I should be charging before I go apply, so as not to be taken advantage of by being given a low payment quote.

Any help on this subject or links to other beneficial websites would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thank you kindly,
LipStickFigure48 :)

Are you already a cosmetologist? Many of the funeral homes in my area employ regular old beauticians to do the make up and hair of their deceased clients. Yet some family members prefer to have their personal beautician to do the make up of their loved ones.

The costs will be different depending on your individual location and typically the amount of work that goes into it.
