My daughter had a discolored leg. It is only on her left leg. She has had it all her life but for the past couple of years it has went all the way up her leg. If you push it on the bottom it hurts her. I went to the doctors and they sent her to a dermatologist but all he said was that it was fine blood vessels. I think it could be something more. If she gets hit on that leg it will leave a bruise for a very long time. For a month or so. Is it possible that it's sometime more?

The suggestion by the dermatologist that the discoloration is caused by fine blood vessels sounds about right. However, that is not getting to the root of the problem which leads me to believe that more study should be made. There is a procedure called vascular ultrasound that could determine the underlying reason for the condition of your daugher's legs.

I am not a doctor so not making a diagnosis, just a suggestion to further enlighten you on this problem.

Mmm Tickle is right vascular ultrasound of the vessels is needed- she may have a blockage or perhaps varicose veins-this could be a serious issue get it seen to!

Possibly not life threatening, but certainly could develop.

Best wishes
