I came off the pill four months ago to try for a baby. :) Me and my partner have been having regular intercourse (between days 15-30). My cycle since coming off the pill has been 40-45days. however last month i had a period at 44days then 8 days later had another period. I am now on day 38 in this cycle, but i have had stange spotting for the last few days. It only seems to last a couple of hours each day, however is more prominent when i have open bowels. When it first started it was a pinky colour, quite slimy and accompanied weird clot like things, and now its brownish red. I have also got quite sore nipples (which i have never noticed before in a normal cycle) and seem to be quite irritable and moody. I have slight cramps, bloating and feel like i am getting a cold coming - dry throat, slight naucesous, slight headaches and tiredness. :( could i be imagining it because i want it so much, or could i be pregnant? When would be the best time to take a pregnancy test if you think i could be??

the problem with symptoms of pregnancy, is that they mirror symptoms of many other things. It is really hard to say. some women do spot early on and some are as dry as can be. the other things you describe could be anything from a cold, or flu, to PMS. I say wait a week past your normal due date and test. There is no harm in testing now, but there is a chance to get a false negative...so you will want to test again later.

Thank you alkalinangel. Sorry for going on a bit there! U just get so paranoid when your TTC! I will take your advice though and wait until about a week after i'm usually due on my P and just keep my fingers crossed x :) I thought it would happen straight away, and can imagine being pregnant. Everybody around me seems to be getting pregnant too, which doesn't help! :(

I know it is frustrating, but I wouldnt worry. it is completely normal for healthy couples to take a year or so to conceive. Not to mention that you were on BC and that can take a few months to exit your system (typically 2-6 months). Conceiving is no easy task...while it my seem easy when others become pregnant quickly, it is not...in those cases, they just got lucky. There is only a small window of time when we can conceive, and we have to make sure the conditions are perfect in order to do so...just keep charting your cycle, and it will happen when it is suposed to. good luck hun!
