I recently had a heater replaced but not the air conditioner. I just now had my air conditioner replaced (central) and the installers told me that I had a rusting coil that was leaking. They did some minor corrections but told me that the heater installer should have replaced this coil at the time he replaced my heater. Can you tell me who is actually supposed to do this? I have a new heater and a new air conditioner and a rusted, leaking coil. It seems each one is pointing the finger at the other.

the furnace contractor should have suggested changing the evaporator coil while the furnace was out and the air conditioning contractor should also have given you the option of replacing the coil, it is a little more labor now to do this job and that means additional cost to you. Mike
