Can someone please tell me how to fix the squeaking sound my Lennox home
air conditioner makes when it is running? I sprayed around the blades with WD-40
but that only helped a very little bit.

Thanks for any help.

Some motors have an oil port. If it does it will be in the shaft area. If your's has one you can service with motor oil. If you have none, there is nothing you can do short of replacing motor. The bearings in the motor are dry. Noemally it doesn't last long when it starts squealling.Good Luck

I am having the same problem, but it is NOT the fan bearing..the fan motor is brand new. We had the entire compressor/condenser unit replaced with a new one in an effort to stop the squeal problem. There is a very high-pitched squeal coming from near where the pipes come out of the unit to go into the house. It is usually worse right after the AC kicks on...and sometimes just before it turns off. We now have three AC techs trying to figure this out...one for the homeowners association, which wants the problems solved because the noise is bothering neighbors. One is the people I hired to replace our AC unit, and another is a tech who advises a property owner near the unit. All I'm getting are complaints and confirmation that the AC unit is making a squealing noise. Does ANYONE have a solution?

Denny43, Put your hand on the small line at the fitting where it connects to the outdoor unit , is this where the squeal is coming from? If so then it is the metering device making the noise.
