Not a real problem per se, just wondering how common straight eyelashes as opposed to curled. Being of the naturally curled persuasion, it seems to me as if curled is the most common. Some of my friends, however, disagree. Seriously though, even the people I know that claim to have straight eyelashes look as if their lashes flip up--slightly. In fact the only person I can recall ever having truly straight eyelashes was an old lady--and hers were only straight because they were impossibly short. So am I right? Are eyelash curlers just another useless beauty product consumers are being brainwashed into believing they need?

eyelash curlers have been used for years, but you can buy mascara now that curls eyelashes slightly and anyway, any mascara will curl slightly.

My eyelashes are straight, but curl slightly upon application of mascara; I havent used a curler since I was twenty or so.

well, all my friends yell at me because i hate mascara, but i don't even need it because i have really dark thick long lashes. but they are BONE straight, they kind of go down actually. :) sometimes i curl them, but it doesn't last long because i don't use mascara. but i guess they just make my eyelids look darker, like a natural eyeliner. but my point is that they're very straight naturally for me

Tickle, Lollymolly, you guys just touched base on something I never thought of before. Some of those people I thought just had minimally curled lashes may actually have straight ones that curl as a result of mascara application. Thanks for you guys help. I still think curled is more common. Too bad they don't take polls on such frivolity. Then again, this is the internet lol.

Although this may seem minor and nitpicking, I kind of think ethnicity determines eyelashes. It stands to reason that an ethnic group with dark coarse hair would tend to have thicker eyelashes and more curl.

Funny, my eyelashes are SO straight it makes me crazy.
I curl daily but they dont stay curled. A friend told me a secret,heat your eyelash curler with your hair dryer before you use it,it helps them stay curled.
