My outdoor AC unit recently stopped working. When we power it on from the thermostat it clicks and theMy outdoor AC unit recently stopped working. When we power it on from the thermostat it clicks and then makes a sound like it is attempting to turn on, but the fan doesn't power on. Every minute or so it makes a sound like it is attempting to power on. It never does though.

I know this isn’t very much info but maybe it will trigger something with someone.

Check the fuses in the outdoor disconnect. It could also be the contactor/starter in the outside unit causing the problem.

I replaced both the contactor and the fuse, I still ran into the same problem. Any other ideas.

Could be your fan motor is bad and going off on it's internal overload. When it cools down it will attempt to start again. If it is bad, replace and change the capacitor with the correct size as well.
