Hello, I am new here and I was wondering is basic grocery store bought olive oil an effective treatment for hair. For instance if I mix it in with my conditioner or shampoo or just put it on my hair will it help because I hear a lot of people say its good for dry hair. Plus I'm african american so I need to know. XOXO thanks

I use it as a hot oil treatment; heat an ounce in a glass in the microwave (till warm)
work it into scalp and hair, wrap head in hot towel for five minutes and wash it off with regular shampoo.

The BodyShop chain in Canada wrote a beauty book a while back with all natural beauty treatments for the whole body and this was one of them.

I think the best olive oil you can buy should be used though, extra extra first press olive oil.

i think if you google 'the body shop' you can still get some of this information.
