Have you tried medicated concealers? Get it a bit lighter than your natural skin tone and blend it in. Also you can get green tinted concealers/ foundations which take the redness out of spots- these also tend to be medicated.

For nasty spots get some over the counter spot cremes - benzyl peroxide containing ones are very strong but really kill bad spots- but don't use this unless you have to or you could end up with red skin anyway because of the creme.

Also don't touch your face!!! Can't emphasis this one enough - do you ever sit with your head in your hand in class? I realised I was doing this and when I stopped it really helped my skin.

Also drink lots of water - it flushes out your skin and keeps it hydrated.

Have you tried washing your face with witch hazel based products or tee tree oil? I always thouyght these worked better than some of the other face washes on the market - although I think this is one of those personal preference things.

Anywho, hope I have given you some ideas of what to do - hope one of them works for you too.

thanks so much for all your help but i have tried all, the concelers do help to cover them up but dont really do much to heal them, my skin seems to have become immune to benzyl peroxide, i used benzamisin and id rather have the spots than the red face, it dosnt work anymore. i hardly touch my skin, i wash the phone and change my pillow covers every night, i think its just an age thing but i am very grateful for your help and will try to drink more water, did you ever have a medicated spot creme that worked really well? so that i can ask my doc to try it when i go? thanks xxx

My brother did but I can't remember what it was called at the moment. However I do know he went on a course of antibiotics which help break the cycle of spots causing spots. Your doctor will know exactly what will be best for you. There are loads of different options (I can think of a couple of good ones) but I don't feel qualified to tell you about perscription drugs - I feel this is best left for your GP.

Sorry to hear you already tried the other things and they haven't worked out. A trip to the doctors is proably a good idea - it's what they are there for. Good luck! Sorry I couldn't be of more help - I know how rubbish acne/spots is!

Randomly looking for the cream my brother used and found this site which has tips and reveiws of products OTC and perscription - it's american so use the generic not the brand name with your GP (although they might know both)

It is a great site you should really have a look

Twice a day my son took one 22-mg tablet of zinc, and slowly increased intake until he was taking about 6-8 tablets per day. At that level, his face began to clear up. Google "zinc skin problems" or "zinc blemishes" (without quote marks) for more information. Of course, check with your doctor and/or pharmacist too.

Go to a dermatologist they can give you a cream or even a pill to clear up your acne. Your insurance will pay for it most of the time and if they do it be cheaper than the over the counter stuff.

Yes, my brother got a prescription from his doctor and it worked miracles. His face was completely clear in 2 weeks. I can't remember what it was though.

I agree- this is a great site! It has a lot of product ratings and you can talk to other people and get ideas. From this site you can also buy a fantastic benzol peroxide gel that is not available in stores (you can only get 10% in stores, which is too harsh, the site sells a 2.5% one). For me, it has worked wonders and it is very affordable. However you don't need to buy or have anything to do with the gel to use this website- it is a great way to find out about all kinds of products/treatments.
