My hair has been bleached and coloured many times. My last visit 2 weeks ago to a salon I asked for my bleached white hair to be made red, colourist put a neat red semi on and this turned it wishy washy orange, then she sttemted to add a RED kicker stainer, this just slipped straight off when she washed it, After two weeks I attempted a red semi with another salon and this just slipped straight off in the washing sink. My hair is a pale orangy red in places mess, I had the ends cut off as it was wrecked, I know have short pale orange hair HELP! Is there anything I can do, I feel totally ugly.

Maybe you should get a really short cut and start over. Hair grows out faster then you think, once you start taking care of it. You only have one head of hair your whole life and if it is a beauty feature with you, then you should take care of it.

Perhaps it is from repetative bleaching which is harsher than going a darker colour, I would defintaely give your hair a break for a while. Get down the shops and get some intensive conditioner products. You should be able to get some hair repair, hot oil treatment and hair masks - use these every time you wash your hair although I would suggest not leaving it as long as you can bear between washes so natural oils can kick in

I had this happen when I was 17, and my hair was suppose to be blue and turned out green in some spots and blonde and orange in other spots. My stylist had to put rebuilders in my hair. The first time I went to him, he used to. Then he stripped my hair of all the dye and put another 1 in my hair. Every week after for a month I had to go back and him put another rebuilder in my hair. Onmy 3rd week though he dyed my hair back to it's natural color with some highlights and told me not to dye it for at least 6 months. He said that I over processed my hair. Just be careful what your using and how often. If your roots need to be redone, just do those not all of your hair again.

Sounds like the cuticle is so stripped it can't hold color any longer.

Sorry to say all you can really do at this point is wait.

Maybe some pretty scarves or hats will cover the problem until it grows out.
