I got a 96 ford escort and everything is out of the way and ready for the cv axle to be pulled out but it's jammed into the transmission. I can pull it out just a hair then it stops like its got a pin or something holding it in. I have looked for over 2 hours for a pin or circlip and there isn't one. I have taken a cv axle out of a 91 ford probe and it pulled right out of the transmission this one here just will not come out.

More force is needed, prybar of some kind. I do not know about your specific car but some Fords do not recommend that both axles be pulled out at the same time so beware...

I'm having the same problem with my '94 Escort. The driver-side axle doesn't have enough room to get in there and pry with anything. How do you get it out of the side of the transmission?

There are c-clips holding the axle in, pull the end of the axle straight out, not to hard in chance of separating the axle, and maybe a heal bar can help pull the axle out. Ask a local parts sstore about it.

Beat out axle and outer joint. Drill 5/16 hole in outside of inner stub shaft bolt on short piece of chain and attach other end to a 10 to 20 lb slide hammer. Get part to pop in and hammer outward repeatedly making sure to pop piece in each time. After 1/2 hr. or longer of constantly hammering it will wear down the clip enough to come out. If it won't come out just keep hammering it may take several sessions of hammering. Took me 2 hrs
