I just shaved my female private parts... it is so itchy... what can I do to stop this itching before work tomorrow and what about the red bumps, but I want the itching to stop any ideas? Please help

I laugh because I know EXACTLY what you are going through. It brings back memories of wanting to itch so bad, but couldn't because I was at school! I would sneak scratches when no one was looking! LOL If anyone saw me, they must've thought I was the dirtiest girl!

Keep the area as moisturised and soothed as possible. Try baby oil. There is a crème by neutrogena that is basically novocaine that numbs the area and helps with the itching. For me, I found that neither of these methods completely stops the itching; only soothes it a bit.

I don't shave anymore. I use the hair removing lotion. It lasts longer and hardly causes itching.

I hope someone else can give you a better "cure".

I used to put aveno lotion on the spots where I itched. Also next time you shave... shave in the direction that your pubic hair grows, that way you won't have the red bumps... Don't itch too much.. I one time itched till I bled. I swear the things that we do for me lol.

I can so relate to both of you!

Try triple antibiotic ointment and hydrocortisone cream. A lot of time the hair follicle tend to get infected which causes the itch and discomfort, so try that it might help.

Make sure you wear comfy clothes tomorrow and cotton panties! Nothing tight! This is VERY important!

Not a lot you can do except allow it to grow back.
Some people have no idea how uncomfortable it is. They don't do it now as far as I know, but they used to shave you when you were in labour and your baby was due. Torture! - Some guy doctor must have come up with that one. Lol

Lol. I avoid all this by exfoliating the skin and putting on E47 crème before it starts to itch.

As a male, I can say I also have first hand experience in this area (lets file that under: experimenting in my younger days)
- I would have to agree with above, smother in scent/fragrence free lotion just before you go to bed, and avoid the urge to scratch at all costs. It will only make it worse!

Try an anti-itch cream. It worked for me. :-D

I have to admit, it wouldn't have mattered to me seeing as I still shaved throughout my entire pregnancy. I don't have a man, so I guess I can't blame it on that. XD

I haven't had any itching since I started shaving a few years ago, but I did get red bumps at first and changing the direction you shave (as someone earlier said) does wonders.

I live in a smaller town so we don't have waxers around here, but have you considered that?

After awhile (I heard anyway) the hair will grow very slowly and it will reduce the amount of times you need to go. :)

Well, it may not slow down, but a wax does last longer. Mind, it can be PAINFUL, but I would say it is worth it.

And everything disappears afther the first couple of shaves. :-)

Just keep it up every two days and in little time you will get used to it. I find that at 4-7 days after a shave is the itchiest period. However do wash well with hot soapy water first.
