    Hubby with Pancreatitis
    Goodafternoon,
My husband a few months ago found out that his pancreas were inflated and very high than normal.. He was losing a lot of liquid from both vomiting and even doing #2.. He also had a high fever and was really bad.. I took him to the emegency room and that's when they told us that his pancreas were inflated and high-he eventually needed to stay a few days in the hospital so they can try to lower the inflated pancreas-they noticed that it wasn't getting lower but my husband was already feeling better -his fever was gone and no pain.. They sent him home with some antibiotics and suggested for him to take out a appointment to do a MRI to see why the pancreas isn't lowing.. He already did that exame and today the doctor told him that it hasn't lowered at all-but the weird thing is that they don't know why.. My husband feels normal and doesn't have no pain or anything but Iam just afraid of this Chronic Pancreatitis that won't lower.. I ve read what it is exactly and noticed that one could even die from it-and that's the reason why Iam so worried.. From what I read online it said that people who have this are those that had or have a drinking problem-but my husband rarely drinks only occasionaly.. I am very concern and was wondering what can we do to lower this thing he has? Please if anyone is passing through the same thing or knows a little more about this - give us some advice..
The doctor suggested for him to get into a diet and not eat fatty food-doc also wanted him to do another blood test in 2 weeks to see if it lowered at least a little..

This is a very serious condition he has. And yes, absolutely no alcohol please. And no fried or greasy food. That is definitely the last thing he needs. You cannot just go in and remove the pancreas like you can a gall bladder and live. You only get one pancreas and cannot live without it. I would strongly suggest your husband get a diet and stick to it as it can and will be a life threatening problem if he keeps having a high level and it cannot be lowered.

I had a gall bladder that was pumping "pebbles" into my pancreas. When I had the gall bladder out they had to take a very long time to remove the pebbles from my pancreas. I was very very ill and almost died due to this. My temp was very high, I kept vomiting and having diarrhea and severe pain from my gall bladder. So I can personally tell you that it is a very serious problem he has.

Also, be sure to watch the whites of his eyes for any signs of yellowing. If his eyes are starting to yellow and not be their normal white color take him to the ER immediately as he is a very sick man and probably does not know it (or is ill and does not want to admit it). Also if his skin color starts to look "goldish" in color. That's also not a good sign either and he needs to be seen by a doctor.
