Odd thing just under the surface of the skin on the shaft of my penis

I noticed the other day two black spots just a half-inch or a little more from the head of my penis. They were not growths or warts or ingrown hairs. I noticed also that they were partially exposed. I decided to see if they hurt, and they didn't. When I was doing this I realized that with some maneuvering I could expose enough of them to grab them with a tweezer. I pulled them both out. It was completely painless. When they were out, however, they didn't look black anymore. They were brown and had a lustre to them, they were a bit shiny. They were tiny, hardly more than a millimeter in length, and half as wide. They looked slightly cylindrical.

Again, it was completely painless. It seems obvious that they were foreign bodies of some kind, but what kind? Has anyone here heard of such a thing, or have any idea what it might be?

I would really suggest that you see your doctor. We can guess what's going on, but we really can't give an accurate answer, there are too many possibilities.
