Why would she think you were a freak for doing that?

How about talking with her about it?

Really, in order to have a good sex life, you have to be able to talk to each other about what you'd like, and what you'd like for the other person.

Is there something in your sex life that just isn't clicking?

tools, or toys or games all add spice to a sex life. A husband and wife should have free discussion of what is good, what may be fun and more.
If you are not talking to her about things, you are losing the battle

try asking her next time when having sex. say sweetie how about I get you a vibrator. Ask her in a way that you feel it should be said. If you two love each other she shouldn't have a problem with it.

Is she non-orgasmic?

If so, she needs a vibrator and an instruction book on how to make best use of it. She needs to practice by herself until she becomes orgasmic, etc....She's really missing a lot!!!!

Do you know if she has ever used one by herself? Asking how she feels about vibes in general would be a good way to start a conversation. She may have been thinking about it already but worries that it would offend you. NYC has a great shop and they are online, it's called Babes in Toyland. Sounds like you two have been together for awhile if you have kids, she probably knows you are not a freak.. well.. no more freaky than the rest of us.
