Some guys do appear to be gay - not sure it is a show for them or a statement that want to make or carrying a chip on their shoulder, daring people to knock it off - but there are some guys are easy to identify as being gay. By their mannerisms and dress. I am not saying this to make anyone angry, but I have seen this - pretty darn obvious. One of my neighbors - her son is gay and is very flamboyant about it. I have a cousin who is gay and he is much the same way. Used to work with a woman who did everything she could to look, act, and dress like a man. One did not need to ask - she often said she did that so no one would ask.

However - many many gays look like you! Or the guy next door or your local banker or the chef at your favorite restaurant. Do you expect them to wear a sign? Do you expect them to act or talk or walk differently?

My question for you - why is it important for you to know? Why is their sexual orientation of concern to you?

Now if you are wondering about a straight guy being gay and still be
straight - no, not really. He could be bi-sexual.

Chuck is correct in that homosexual men have signals.....an unsubtle example is Senator Craig tapping his feet in a washroom stall.

These are signals that straight people don't see or know about, usually.

I'm pretty sure that your question is "How do you tell a gay guy from a straight guy."
You just choose the wrong wording.

There are about five million little things that would let you know if they are gay or straight.
It IS possible to tell. The people who answered this before me and said that there are some whom you couldn't tell where gay are b-sing.

Generally if I come across someone whom I can't even figure out, I just talk to them.
The answer is in their eyes, no lie. Gays view the world totally different than us, life is harder for them by a million times. But their eyes usually shine.

And you have to watch out for a lot of little signs, like is he wearing thumb rings. Or the dead giveaway is flip flops in the middle of winter. Gay guys have to wear flip flops in the middle of winter lol.

Then there are ways they stand, sometimes their voice. Clothing is a pretty good giveaway. And there are some gays who act completely straight, but you can tell. You just have to pay attention. It's not too hard - but the easiest way to find out if someone is gay, is to ask one of your gay friends.

They will tell you, because again they view the world different and see things we don't.
