Hi, I'm 18 and I recently told my parents that I'm gay, I would say that I've had homosexual fantasies since i was about 12/13, however up until about 17ish I also had some heterosexual desires, though much weaker than any homosexual desires. Up till I was 16 i went to an all boys school and knew few girls and I had though/hoped that when I moved to a mixed school my same-sex feelings would cease. They did not however i got a girlfriend at 17 who turned me on my touch but when i went to have sex with her, my plumbing decided to turn itself off so to speak.
I never really look at a girl and think "she's fit" however I do when I look at boys I fancy, and fantasizing about girls doesn't interest me or turn me on, whereas boys do. However the idea of a boy who i don't fancy particularly older men disgusts me whereas this is not the case with women (however there is no interest either).
Basically since I told my parents I was gay I haven't stopped questioning myself (I think I have HOCD in reverse or something) and this is stalling me in further coming out. I haven't told my parents all of this, I just told them I was more confused than I thought. HELP!
Just my opinion, but I think your going thru the same thing most young people go thru, they are looking for someone to be with. To your credit you aren't hopping into bed with just anyone, but when you meet someone who turns you on, then your questions will get answers. Take your time, with the process of growing up, and as you get to know, and get comfortable, with the right people, you build a life that makes you happy. Its okay to be confused at your age we all where, straight or gay, and everyone in between. You will find where you fit. For now just love yourself, for who you are, and be happy with yourself.
It's totally normal to feel confused. Just take some time, step back, and see what happens. And about the "plumbing" that's normal too. Doesn't mean you're gay, doesn't mean you're not.
