i want them to adopt me

i'm 14, i'm living with a family who are kind of my foster family, we are getting a residency order put in place, i want them to adopt me, and they would be more than happy to, but we dont think my birth parents would agree to it, it would be messy. I was wondering what would have to happen if we decided we wanted to go ahead with it?

Your foster parents would have to file a motion to adopt in Family Court. But it's not likely to be granted if your birth parents won't agree to it.

Are you in the DHS system? If so talk to your case worker and see if they can terminate parental rights.
