Check with the adoption agency that your parents used.

Talk to your parents--they may have more info.

Go to the courthouse in the county where you were born, and place a letter in with your birth certificate that your birthparents can contact you if they wish.

Register on reunion sites--I know adoption.com has a section for posting information to help reunite adopted children and birthparents.

Your best bet, however, is to get more information from your adoptive parents if you can.

It all depends on whether it was an open or closed adoption. Start with the people you know, your adoptive parents. I have two siblings who were adopted and believe me, your parents should understand your need to find out information about your biological parents simply for the medical history. You may want to think very carefully how you will approach them on this subject, as they may be a little defensive as to why you want to find your birth parents. Always speak the truth, though.

I totally agree with all of the avenues that Synnen mentioned. Good luck to you!!
