family and children

My question is concerning my two kids that I have with a girlfriend that I've been living with until a week ago. She took my kids and left me about a week ago. Now I found out she's left town with some truckdriver and left my kids behind. Her sister in one town has my one year old son and another sister in another town has my 4 month old daughter. I want to report her the Social Services and file for custody of my kids but do not know what to do. Do father's have rights in this type of situation. I'm worried.

Are you listed on the birth certificate or have you has a paternity test done? If so (either) of course you have a right. They are your kids too. If no custody has been given to either of you (check with your state first), you can just go get them and she can't do anything to you.

You can go to the police and file a neglect/abandonment on her. You can go to the Department of Social Services and get all of the help you need. You are the father, and you are worried about your children. Get them back.
