Closed adoption court record, can I view any information in it?

Does a Texas Civil court have to allow me to view some of the information in my closed adoption file under the Freedom of Infomation Act? I'd like to view any allowable info, if so, how do I petition the court for it? Thanks.

As far as I know, the ONLY information that you can get from your closed adoption file is your medical information--and in most places that's only if you have a pressing medical condition that calls for it.

I don't believe that the Freedom of Information Act has anything to do with it at all.

The problem comes in that while you have a need for information about your medical and genetic history, your birthmother was promised absolute secrecy regarding her information.

What information are you looking to get out of this?

FOIA does not apply in closed adoption situations.
