Can a baby be put on adpotion without fathers consent?
A really good friend of mine got his ex-girlfriend pregnant, he just found out she had the baby on 02/08/07. Her brother told him a family from california was going to adopt him and was picking him up saturday night, can she put him up for adoption without his permission?

Hes not here legally but has graduated highschool, is taking college course and has a stable job with direct energy, hes scared that if he involves the police he will get deported and that will retain him for becoming a resident or getting his citezenship.

PLEASE HELP WITH ANY INFORMATION YOU MAY HAVE!!!!!!!
HE WANTS TO BE A DAD FOR HIS SON, BUT HOW CAN HE GET AROUND HIS STATUS?!!!!!:(

She cannot put the baby up for adoption without his consent. She probably lied saying she didn't know who the father was.

He has to go to Family Court and apply for custody.

Has he been proven to be the father? If not then he has no legal standing with which to block the adoption. If he is proven to be the father then he has paternal rights. He can attempt to petition the court to stay the adoption pending the results of a DNA test if he wishes to be proven the father and exercise his paternal rights. Strictly speaking, his immigration status has no bearing in and of itself on his paternal rights. However, having to admit that he's here illegally could get the authorities after him and result in his deportation. At the very least, if he's been employed his employer will probably terminate him out of fear of being fined for hiring an illegal. That will of course render him very financially incapable of taking care of his child, not to mention paying the legal fees he'll incur in attempting to assert his paternal rights.
