I often suggest when someone is starting out or changing to another career field
that they enlist the services of an employment agency. They are a great advocate
once you have been background checked by them and tested. Plus, since you
are not straight out of school but have a large experience background, you
more than likely would qualify to have the interested company/organization
pay the employment agency, rather than you paying the fee.
They often create resumes for you to take on your interviews and give
your tips for how to dress, respond to questions, and what not to volunteer
informationwise. Not to hide anything unseemly, but sometimes in
nervousness, we say things without meaning to that can be a turnoff
or put us out of the running.
This is just a suggestion, but I'm sure you could locate a competent
executive recruiter (employment agency) in your area. From what you
have stated, you have about all of the expertise needed to be one, and
then some.
