Promotion letter

I have been asked to assist a colleague( who is due for promotion)by writing a note to the Vice president of the Department. The letter is to be brief , about 3-5 lines thanking for all the assistance afforded during the last few months. How do I start this note? She will become a senior supervisor who can further the career of anyone under her.

I would like to take this time to thank you for all your time and support you have provided me during the last couple of months. Because of your support I am more confident within myself and with a company who really cares about its employees.
