i was bored... the truth is for the longest time i thought it said the "writers quitting corner" lol Anyway, I tried looking it up with google's "define:" command but it didnt come up with anything. So i figured it was some sort of English slang.

And I already confessed what i was quitting in my first and only other post here. lol Im a recovering quitter.. I quit quitting.

Yes you were bored and you are a quitter then....Good for you. Now what the heck do you got to offer us quitters? I am weak when it comes to Marlboro reds and I am always willing to take a puff but my head says don't do it. Really really loud!

wittering means.....

Originating in East Anglia, this short phrase means to talk at great length about nothing in particular, without any sort of requirement of possesion of facts or knowledge on the subject, but, importantly, not simply spouting meaningless nonsense; therefore, to talk 'gibberish' is not the same as to 'witter' as the latter usually maintains a modicum of sense. In the same way, to "waffle" is not quite wittering, as waffling is merely only knowing one part of the song and merely repeating it, whereas wittering is knowing most of the song, often improvising on the bits you don't know so well, and sometimes improving the less exciting parts. Gossip is a perfect example of how wittering is used every day, in its purest form. Tabloid journalism is another.

And yes its in the dictionary

Well, this is quite a topic.

I did drugs for about 11 years. I would consider myself an actual drug addict for 7 of those years. And Im not talking about just smokin weed. I did almost everything under the sun. But that was the experimental stage... not really the addiction stage. That didnt start until I found a drug and stuck to it until I was eventually injecting it into my blood on a daily basis.

I have been clean for 5 years this August.

I was in N.A. But N.A. isnt why I quit. I spent a total of 26 months in jail but jail isnt why I quit. In fact, I cant really pinpoint what it was. I just had to make a decision. And once I did, I had empowered myself to never touch it again.

I was put to many tests. Many times I could have picked up and used (even without anyone ever finding out). But I had already conquered it... I had already decided.

I later began counseling at a place called CoRR that i had also been in treatment in. However, I was asked to either change my style of counseling or to leave. See, I do not agree with the attitude of N.A. N.A. is a fear-based program. They teach you that if you run and hide from your addiction, you will be okay. i dont believe that. I believe that any one of us can conquer anything that is put before us. It is just a matter of deciding for yourself.

Dr. you are a hero in my eyes, and I think if you can remain a quitter for that long you can probably say you have definately QUIT!! I was a drug user in my teenage years, I loved it, quit then started again and my NOW husband saved my ARSE! Thank goodness for him cause we now have been married for 11 years and have four really handsome and great kids! Thanks for sharing.

nah, we get serious here too. We are just here to help if you feel down and out about the difficulties experienced when quitting an addiction. WE are all here because we have decided (or are in the midst of deciding) to quit whichever addiction plagues us. Just a support group.
