I am going through opiate withdrawl and dont know what to do ?and where to get help i was on methodone clinic had went to jail when getting out i couldnt take the pain so i did take methodone once and with in went back to the clinic and then my urine test came up with methodone and so they said i had to wait the promblem is its not all the time i can get stuff to feel better so i go through alot of pain
Depending On The Opiate You Are Addicted To... Have You Tried Suboxone Or Subutex? Depending On Which State You Live In Contact Either A Mental Health Specialist Or A Pain Management Doctor... Be Cautious Of The Pain Management Doctor, They Are Good For The First Few Weeks After That Most Of Them Are Out To Make Money . . . Good Luck
Even though the physical withdrawal is intense, it is relatively short term. It is the long term care that most people don't plan for. Depression is common or on the flip side an abundance of energy. Like it or not the only safe way is in a program. They will teach you how to stay clean after the detox. Go back to the clinic and explain your desire to take your life back. They will find a spot for you. Don't give up and don't give in.
Yeah, it all depends on the opiate you are addicted to. In response to the above, I have seen some good results with soboxone treatment, as well as methadone. However, they have been clients who REALLY are committed to being clean, getting clean, and staying clean. again, someone said this also... its the long term treatment and therapy that is necessary. And sometimes, being addicted and using methadone to get high, some treatment centers will be cautious... so you need to be honest and tell them the truth about what you want, what you are willing to do, and choose a program that is more strict, to help benefit you and support you.
I know that withdrawal sucks... but you will need to go through it at some point. Whether in a residential detox center, or under doctors care... but even when you are weaning off methadone or soboxone, there will be slight withdrawal. So you need to work on your coping skills and motivation to get the life you want in the future!

you can try a pain killer called tramadol or ultram. you can get it w/o a prescription.
I so totally feel for you. When i went thru opiate withdrawal, it was damn near impossible to do on my own. The very nature of my addiction(go to any lengths and means to get more) made it impossible. You need to get to a detox centre. Opiate withdrawal needs to be done under medical supervision. Plus, they give you meds to make it bearable. And when your all detoxed the resources for follow up treatment or some kind of plan to stay clean are right there. Good luck. Hang in there. It does not last forever and when you walk it through it you will have a choice again. You won't HAVE to use to get through the day. You will be free. But I cannot stress that being clean does not equal being in recovery. Get clean and then STAY clean. Life can be so very good.
Me again. I have also gone the methadone program route. Honestly, it wasn't for me. I very quickly decided to wean off the methadone (which also sucked) and am now clean. But then again I know plenty of people who are on the methadone program and live full, normal lives. Of course they do not abuse the methadone but take it as prescribed only. Again good luck to you.
