What is a sex addict and can they really be in a relationship?

I am interested to know about lives of a sex addict in a relationship with their partner. I have read they have a hard time being with one person and they often are unfaithful and end up losing that person. I have also been told they can not be intimate and continue to have to have sex till they lose contol. Most tend to not get help until it is pratically too late. So what are the truths and lies with a sex addict-their symtoms, how they have relationships or if they do.Just wanting to know more about the addiction from the addict themselves or a partner of the addict.

The problem is there addiction to sex takes over their lives and thats all they look forward too. They appear to be super needy and crave intimacy far above the normal level. No they dont get help. It is the same scenario with any addiction, they dont think they have a problem, same as an alcoholic.
