How do I know if my alcoholic boyfriend is lying?

Why does my boyfriend lie all the time about being an alcoholic. I know about his problem and go to open AA meetings with him every week but I still think that he is drinking and I don't want to question him as a relationship is about trust but he would just turn round and say he wasn't anyway even if he was!
What can I do?:

Maybe its time for you to head off to an Al-Anon meeting of your own? It will help you understand these things much much better. Al-Anon is a spin off of AA for the family and loved ones of alcoholics. Very helpful people for people like you.

As those of us in AA often say, alcoholism is the only disease that tells you you don't have it! Val is right--going to some Al-Anon meetings should help you. Dishonesty and addiction go hand-in-hand in my experience. It's sad, but everyone except the alcoholic or addict seems to know the truth of what's going on before they do. I hope this helps you.
