If you are no longer in pain, and still taking them, that may be a problem to discuss with your doctor.

Okay is there something you not telling us? Why would you be asking all of these addiction questiones? I truly believe there is more to this story thats being told. For one if your doctor has prescribed you oxc and loritabs you can rest assure his license will be looked at very carefully. No doctor prescribe oxc an loritabs and I mean no doctor at the same time. The reason for me saying this is because all drugs has an idenification number when being prescribe and these numbers are being checked very carefully. Have you consulted another doctor upon the one that you're currently seeing for the oxc prescription? Everytime these drugs are prescribe not only are the numbers being checked but the doctors license number also. Next time you go get and prescription filled please look at the numbers. Now I'm going to say that you need to get in some type of drug management before this condition gets any worser. Trying to decrease your intake on this medicine isn't going to work because both are narcotics. Leaving one alone without the other isn't going to work either because you have access in getting these drugs. Please contact me at the following email address so we can talk more one on one. Quitting cold is possible as i have done. but i would'nt reccomend it . it can be dangerous as your body can litterally go into shock. it took me a week before i even started to feel normal. doctors are under a lot of pressure to control this drug by DEA and FDA. Iv'e had extensive experience with the doctorsand the pills trust me when i say get off opiates oxy or lorocets cause addictions and it can control your life. in tampa theres a laser surgery clinic you may want to consider that. good luck!

I have found that when people hear the word oxycontin, they lose all perspective. Also using loritabs or even roxicontin for a breakthrough medicine is not that uncommon. This medicine is also a Godsend when a person has long term pain. It is the few who abuse it, that ruin it for everyone else.
I have to admit that this medicine has had a lot of bad press.
The advice about drug seeking activities has been good advice. However do not be scared away from your medicine if you still need it.
If you are taking it as prescribed than you are ok. It is when you begin using it in a different way (snorting, shooting, chewing) as opposed to swallowing it as prescribed. or trying to get extra pills, then you are an addict.
Please if your pain is decreased, tell your doctor and allow him to wean you off the pills. Do not try to do it yourself. It is not only because you may be addicted or dependent that you need to be weaned but, there are a lot of medicines out that that you should not stop taking abruptly.
You have only been on this medicine for 2 months. If your injuries were huge then that is not a long time.
Any worries that you have need to be discussed with your doctor. If you do not trust the doctor that you are using then it is time to get another one, but tell him everything.
Good Luck.
