    Enzyme test for alcohol using ggt test. How long do enzynes remain the a persons system that will be detected by the GGT blood test?

    Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT): 4-5 weeks to return to normal levels following abstinence. It's worthy of note that GGT is associatet with long-term excessive drinking. It is also not specific to chronic drinking. Other factors can elevate GGT. Therefore it is usually used in combination with AST, ALT, MCV, and CDT a combination of which lead to greater specificity. All blood tests > liver function.
