    Drug Testing
Ok, so I quit smoking pot for about 2 weeks now (I used to smoke about everyday). And I just found out I need to get a drug test.. How long does it take for it to get out of your system, and is there a way to speed up the process of getting it out of me. I know it stores in your fat cells, and well, I'm not a "skinny" person. Advice anyone? Thanks

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) can stay in a person's body for as long as 3 to 90 days after smoking or being ingested orally. There are numerous determining factors for how long drug toxins stay in a persons body which vary from person to person, such as the analytical method used, your health, your body weight, metabolism, fluid intake, the type of drug toxin, and the degree of exposure to the drug toxin.

The speed at which marijuana leaves your body depends both on the speed of your metabolism, as well as on the half life of THC. It's estimated that THC can have a half life that ranges anywhere from 1-10 days. It's almost impossible to find out what that half life is, which means that it is very difficult to use it to calculate how long it will take for all of the THC to leave your body.
The most common period is anywhere from 3-30 days, depending on your metabolism and the amount of marijuana that you've smoked. This is unfortunate, since it means that while most drug tests can only turn up evidence of other drugs if you've been taking the drug within a few days of the drug test, marijuana could still be detected in a urine test up to a month after the last time it is used. If you smoke it occasionally it will remain in your system for up to 10 days. If you smoke marijuana on a regular basis it will stay in your system for as long as 45 days, and if you smoke marijuana at a constant pace, it can stay in the body for 90 days, Marijuana is fat soluble. It stores in the fat cells of the body, the brain, the liver, the kidneys, in other words the major organs.

The Drug Testing site says it stays in your hair for 3 years and more and more employers are using hair follicle testing.

Otherwise it says there is no way to speed it out of your system and "The speed at which marijuana leaves your body depends both on the speed of your metabolism, as well as on the half life of THC. Unlike most other substances, the half-life of THC can vary quite a bit, depending on who is using it, when it’s used, and several other factors. For example, it’s estimated that THC can have a half life that ranges anywhere from 1-10 days. It’s almost impossible to find out what that half life is, which means that it is very difficult to use it to calculate how long it will take for all of the THC to leave your body.

Not only that, but your metabolism and how much marijuana you smoked will also have an effect on the length of time that it will take you before you can test without testing positive for marijuana use. After all, the half-life is only the length of time that it takes for you to lose half of the THC that is in your system. If you’ve smoked a lot of marijuana, then it will take you longer before the THC in your body drops back below the amount that is detectable by most drug tests.

For this reason, when you ask “How long does marijuana stay in your system?” you have to realize that it’s very unlikely that you’ll be able to get a usable answer. The most common period is anywhere from 3-30 days, depending on your metabolism and the amount of marijuana that you’ve smoked. This is unfortunate, since it means that while most drug tests can only turn up evidence of other drugs if you’ve been taking the drug within a few days of the drug test, marijuana could still be detected in a urine test up to a month after the last time it is used."

There are various things on the internet. I don't know if they work - perhaps someone else does. I know they do not remove it from your hair.

If it's a hair follicle test, I'm sorry... you're screwed, as the products that they actually offer (chemical shampoos) will actually show up on the test as well.

If it's a urine sample, THC (it's not ACTUALLY THC... but we'll stick to this to be pc) can be tested for roughly up to about 30 days. Seeing as you smoked about everyday and as you said, you're not a "skinny person," it may take a bit longer.

I'm aware of the drinks they offer, and I hear some people swear by it, but I'm not entirely sold on it yet.

I suggest going to CVS or ECKERD or RITE AID or any store like that, as they have THC testing kits in the pharmacy section. They're roughly the same test that certain employers use when they drug test their candidates.

Beware of the quick clean techniques... Many come myths come from the military. They do random testing all the time, yet what some do not know is that they only test a random few out of each batch. If the ones selected all pass they pass the whole batch. If one fails they then test every sample in the batch. Thus many who had quick fix ideas seemed to work just by luck, yet if one got caught they usually had plenty of company...
Basically, smoke or don't smoke. Made your bed... Take the test and let the dice fall where they may you might be clean now. Take this as a lesson next time you took up, especially when looking for a job.
