My daughter

My 43 year old daughter is getting out of a woman's correctional center in january.
She has had a addiction to herion and cocane for years. this is the longest time she has been forced to stay clean ( 2 1/2 years)
she is coming to live with me in another state other then the one she has lived in all her life & will be on parole for 2 years.
She has hepitis c and I would like some advise on how to help her with this and to stay off drugs if you can.
She will have no insurance so i am hoping to help her find a job that carries medical. If i am right they won't cover her for the hepitis because she has had it for years.
how do i go about gettin g her any help so she can start a new life.
we are in myrtle beach sc.
any advise i can get i will treasure, it is hard for someone to start their life anew, not to many people are willing to give you a chance.
God Bless & Thank You
DianaLynn

Ask at your local churches. Many will have programs for addicts.

Hopefully she wants to stay clean. If she does she might be able to help counsel kids about drugs and not going the wrong way in life.
To help her immune system for hepatitis she can try taking vitamins C, E, milk thistle and alph-lipoic acid<--caution if diabetic

My mom has hepatitis C (not from drugs -.-) and she was on medication for a while to help it but she had to stop and get a new med cause the one she was on caused major mood swings!! She actually hit my step dad once O.O cause the drug made her get pissed off real fast.

I agree with the others. If she wants to stay clean then get her on some programs. Also finding a job that covers medical will be great! If you can get a medical card that covers meds for C then you'll be good! Just make sure what ever durg it is is one that doesn't cause mood swings >.<

It's good your daughter has a loving mom like you supporting her. Good for you! I agree with the above posts, get her in a program for addicts. Some places to look for one are: churches ( or other religious organizations of your choice), community mental health centers, the newspaper, and you can always ask a doctor about community resources for drug addictions. If your daughter doesn't have health insurance, see if there are any local clinics for the uninsured in your area. If she can find a job with medical insurance, then great! But, if not, many counties have these free clinics. I went to one to get an antibiotic several years ago, and all I had to do was show them my driver's license/ID card to prove that I lived in that county. The treatment was free. Many counties have these clinics. Check online or in the newspapers. Your doctor might know of one too. Also, there are support groups for people with hep C. The people at the support groups might have good advice about getting treatment that insurance won't cover. It's always helpful to talk to people with the same medical condition. Hope this helps!
