another smoking related ?

i have read over some of the posts and did not find an answer to my question. i have quit smoking cold turkey 3 times before, but after about 24-48 hours into i get a nervous tick in my right eye. i have a tooth that is in need of a canal soon, and it will just throb when i do not smoke. i get emotional and anger easily, the anger i expected, but all the other stuff i did not. a nervous tick!? as soon as i smoke it all goes away. i smoke about a pack day and have been for four years.

this has made cold turkey very hard for me. is my body that addicted to nicotine? and what can i do stop the tic? i can honestly say i can deal with the not smoking especially if i stay busy, i mean i do not crave that badly, but how long with the other annoying and painful withdrawl symptoms last?

I quit smoking and had alarming symptoms for the first three days....after that, gradual loosing of the grip of nicotine.

Three days are the worst. After two weeks, the nicotine is out of your system. Then, it is a matter of changing your habits to avoid former smoking situations.

A glass of *ice* water is a good substitute in the interim. Short walks are helpful.

Think of this.....John McCain spent *six years* in a pow camp, part of the time being tortured! Can't you spend three days then two weeks without smoking? After that the chemical is out of your system. A brand new like awaits you, a much better life.

Have a mantra, a better life, a better me.....

Good Luck!
