Cost of Goods Sold

Hi,

I have a question about Cost of Goods Sold. I don't quite understanding it, but please explain to me why a mortgage loan company would have CGS on their balance sheet? I know the company doesn't have any inventories because they don't lend out money to buyers. They only help buyers to obtain loan from third party and then charge the third party for commission. Then, why CGS? and what is it for?

Thanks a bunch,
NeedClarity
