SECURITY DEPOSIT RECORDING IN QUICK BOOKS PRO

We have just installed quick books pro and having terrible time attempting to figure out how to set up security deposits.

Example:

Tenant has security deposit of $500.00

Pays half $250.00

Leaves balance of $250.00

So do you go to security deposit accounts receivable and credit (current Liabilites) Security deposits Libility account.

When we do this if shows total amount of liability but in Peachtree it only showed amount collected?

Anyone out there Know?
