difference between financial year and calender year

financial year starts from 1st aprial and ends 31 st march
calender year stars from 1 st january and ends 31 st december

Calendar year is runs from Jan 1 to Dec 31

A financial year can run for any 12 month period for a corporation. It can run from Nov 1 to Oct 31, it could run Jan 1 to Dec 31, any 12 month period at all.
