General Ledger versus General Journal

Does the number of entries in the general journal equal the number of entries in the general ledger. Why?

no .. not really they entries can never be same on each side .. shouldnt be ... !! but if wht matters is that they should balance .. on legder or journal ... coz when they both balance that shows that entries are complete and on the right sides !!
