I want to change my career in sales to accounting and want to get a B.S. with emphasis in accounting. I have a bankruptcy that was discharged in 1999 and have heard that potential employers do credit checks. And that in the field of accounting, some employers will not hire if there is a bankruptcy on file. Is this true? If yes, does it affect all jobs in accounting or only some? Also, if bankruptcy is not good to have if wanting to get into the Accounting field, is there anything I can do? I really want to get into accounting and I am so scared that my past will haunt me.
