Brokerage Statements

How do you ebter a brokerage statement in your accounting software. i.e if you get the stmt and you have earned purchased 10,000 shares at $20.00 per share, what would that entry be?

Or if you sold 5,000 shares and lost $1500.00 on the sale because it was sold early what would that entry be?
