How would I book a stock investment in the chart of accounts

morgaine300 Accounting Expert Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 1,396	If you are meaning that your company is investing in another company, dr the investment (like "Investment - XYZ Company" and cr probably cash. You're just purchasing an asset, which is the same as purchasing any other asset. Unless there are some extenuating circumstances which you aren't telling us.
