Relevant Cost of Stocks

If a business requires X amount of stock to produce Y units and the X amount of stock is available in Stock as it was bought some year ago with a price of 3pounds per kg. What should be my relevant cost? If I had to buy the X amount of stock required to produce Y units now the current value of X item is 2pounds per kilo. It is also known that if this stock is not used in this production run it would be sold eventually for 1pound per kilo.

Can someone help me with this tricky question??
