Earnings Per Share

I'm having trouble calculating earnings per share in a homework problem, because I dont know how to calculate the perferred stock dividends from the information that was given to me.

All I know is that the common stock ($5 par) for the year was $290,000.
It doesn't tell me what the annual dividend % is or what the stock price per share was either. I know the net income...but thats it. Can you help?
