1099 reporting for services rendered by corporations
    Greetings

I am incorporated and provide software consulting services under my corporation's umbrella and also have employees that work for the corporation.I have a client that had me complete a w9 form for the corporation at the beginning of the work but at the end of the year did not sent me a 1099-MISC form. When I inquired about this (not getting a 1099) they said that they are not obliged to send the corporation a 1099 form.Is it correct and if so don't they need to report this expense (my services) to the IRS?If they do report, how do I know how much they reported since I report on a cash basis and they are most likely not on the same basis?

In this case it would seem they are correct in not reporting the payments on a 1099 so there would be no reporting to the IRS of the payments. Your responsibility is to report the income you received. Assuming constructive receipt is not an issue, they can write you a check and mail it on 12/31 and expense it. You do not have to pick it up as income until you receive it in the following year.
