Reasons to go in for Nursing?

Hello My name is Frankie and I recently graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Psychiatry and I am thinking about going for Psychiatric Nursing. I'm really curious about the filed, I have some experience working in hospitals but a 'tiny' bit hesitant to go for more schooling. I was wondering if I can get some feedback or other's experience as to why go for nursing.

Debating..

Frankie

It is a great field of work to get into. You have many options as far as work environments and job placements. In Psychiatry, you know the mind. In Nursing, you know the body. What a perfect blend of teachings. That kind of background gives you incredible insight into the whole person. Especially if you are working with people who have bi-polar disorders or those with severe emotional disturbances. You know it is not just the mind, you know that everything else is part and parcel of that person's problem.

I think combining the two fields of knowledge is an excellent course to take. Who knows, you may enjoy that so much you decide to go further and become a Nurse Practitioner or go even further? Good luck to you.
