Can a felon be a drug counselor
I am a felon convicted of drug-related charges and unlawful imprisonment... can I get a degree in psychology and be a drug counselor? Or a mental health counselor? I'm going to college now, and I don't want to go to college for the wrong degree... can you tell me? The advisor at my college told me wrong

How is it an unlawful imprisonment and are you fighting it?

I have heard of people with a criminal record using it to their advantage. Like people who once broke into cars working with the police to help profile the mind of someone that is breaking into cars to graffiti artists working on community art projects, etc...
BUT I think you have to have something outstanding to offer to make it work to your advantage a lot of times

It's a long story, but the charge was originally kidnapping, but it got amended to unlawful imprisonment... it was a complete set up, however. The guy I supposedly kidnapped was an adult, first of all, and second of all, he robbed me then set me up. He was snitch for the dea. Yes, I was doing illegal things, but not that. Anyway, I plead guilty to it, went to prison for that among other charges, and I'm on parole until 2016. Going to school now to be a drug counselor, hopefully not in vain
