Beta fish won't eat and doesn't move much
Hello everyone
I have a betta fish (fish stick). I just got him about 2 weeks ago. He was pretty shy at first but warmed up to us. He became energetic and when I went to feed him he swam to the top every time. I recently just noticed that he wasn't eating any of his pellets and when I fed him he wouldn't even move. He hasn't eaten anything for 2 days now. He also just seems to stay in one spot. I see that his fins are moving but it looks like he is floating to the top. Is there anyone that may know what is wrong with him? And what I can do to help him? Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

Are their any changes in his color or size or anything physically different about him in addition to the behavior changes?

He won't be very active if his water isn't clean, so make sure he has nice fresh water.
Betas will swim to the surface to breath. They breath with an organ called a labyrinth (which is equivalent to our lungs).
Try changing his food to freeze dried blood worms and only feed him about 3 -4 a day (3-4 tiny blood worms). If you buy them, you'll know what I'm talking about.
They are not big eaters and it's important not to over feed them.

I had an issue with this- don't know what happened but after a year first one and then the other of my two betas stopped swimming around and finally died. It took several months of lethargy before they died. I did manage to revive them temporarily by changing the water to distilled water/changing it frequently and moving them to a really warm spot. Adding a very small bit of fish salt to the water every change helped too. I don't know how long they live but mine were really large and full grown when I got them, they lived about a year and a half with me.

I raised bettas myself. Its either the water is unclean or the water is too cold. I had this problem a lot. My gold fish was alive and his water was freezing cold and when he tried to swim he'd automatically float to the top. Then when I changed his location and water he was swimming perfect. The perfect way to keep your betta alive is to change the water at least at the end of every week and to make sure the water is at least 65 or 70 degrees. I hope this information helps you.

Hmmm, I have 2 betta's . My fish has done this for a long time. I NEVER see him eat,
But the food is always gone in the morning. Betta's aren't usually really active, but it might be the water temperature. Try leaving a container out in room temperature before pouring the water in. Change the water more often. Betta's are fresh water river fish and are used to flowing fresh water.

I have a goldfish that is about 7 years old. Recently I have noticed she doesn't move properly. She has stopped eating her food and is getting thinner

Hello,
Buddah3, my office mate of 3 years, is sick. He had "pop eye" in one eye so I moved him into a new bowl and used mardel trisulfa - his "pop eye" went away. But he has not eaten since (3 weeks or so). He was hungery but could not get food in his mouth. It was as if he needed glasses...
