Remove carpet pad tape from concrete?
Any advice on the best way to remove the carpet pad tape from concrete floor? I would like to paint and seal the floor but must get the tape and paint drops/overspray off first. Thanks!

Try mineral spirits. Let soak a few minutes then scrape.

Heat gun and scrape for major tape stuff. Wire brush for what's left. Wire brush can be electric. See Home Depot for rental equipment if area is extensive. My feeling is mineral spirits will be absorbed by the concrete and would compromise the coating.

You didn't say how much you have to remove.

A reminder to etch the concrete before painting.

If this is just the double sided carpet tape the mineral spirits will release it. Just wet a couple inches of the end. Wait about 1 minute, lift the end , then pull up entire strip.

Hello, I'm having carpet installed over a concrete floor in the lower level of my bi-level. My question is... what is you opinion (pros and cons) of laying 1/2 or 1/4" subfloor? I'm don't think I would use drilock as it's $$ but was thinking of using plastic (V barrier) with a OSB laying over...

I need to construct a concrete pad for a hot tub. I need the top of the concrete pad to be 18" above ground level to fit into the deck plan properly. I plan to dig about a foot into the ground to avoid the majority of any frost heaving (we're 25 miles north of Philly, PA). I will use six inches...
