Tooth decay from radioactive iodine treatment
I had thyroid cancer with radioactive iodine treatment. My teeth have started rotting from the inside out I don't know there is a problem until the tooth breaks. A dentist told me this is why I have the problems but he also said the solution is tricky I might not be able to have false teeth if my jaw is affected too. I see a dentist next week. First time in two years because I lost insurance. Have you heard of this problem before and why is there no information about it

I know this may not be the exact answer you are looking for, but our dog had radioactive iodine therapy for thyroid cancer last summer. Since that time, the decay in the molar areas has been extensive. One tooth was pulled, and others had started to decay to the same point of needing extraction.

First - I am concerned that you lost insurance. Can you say how that happened? There might be legal ways to get it back.

I lost my insurance because I lost my job due to my husband being too sick to be left alone and no there is no legal recourse. But thank you

I had 160mci of RAI in February and this past week every tooth in my mouth hurts! I plan on going to the dentist first thing in the morning. Have you been to the dentist ? If so what did they say.
