Insert the USB key, and type diskmgmt.msc at the RUN prompt to bring up Disk management.

Your flash key should show up as a removable disk. What does it say?

You should be able to check the properties of the flash drive, and under the "Tools" tab, run an error checking scan making sure to check the box for fixing errors.

Your last resort would be to reformat it.
